“Train up a child in the way he should go, and when he is old he will not depart from it”. (Proverbs 22:6)
The mission of Torrington Christian Academy is to assist parents in raising godly children by providing academic excellence in a Christ-honoring environment. TCA’s belief is that all students can indeed learn. Therefore, TCA puts forth its best effort to be sensitive to a diverse student body with a variety of physical, emotional, and spiritual needs, as well as varying learning abilities and styles.
With dedicated staff, small class sizes, personalized attention and teaching, flexible grouping, and challenging curriculum that is saturated in a biblical worldview, students are challenged to achieve to the best of their ability (Colossians 3:23). “Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for human masters.”
This has resulted in developing students that are not only college ready, but students who are college and life successful. Some students even earn college credits alongside their high school diplomas.
Grow with Us
“But in your hearts revere Christ as Lord. Always be prepared to give an answer to everyone who asks you to give the reason for the hope that you have. But do this with gentleness and respect, keeping a clear conscience, so that those who speak maliciously against your good behavior in Christ may be ashamed of their slander”.(1 Peter 3:15-16)
Torrington Christian Academy is unique in that as a Christian school, our student population does not fit the cookie-cutter stereotype people may envision. The Crusader student body is indeed diverse with regard to denominational backgrounds, biblical literacy, and spiritual maturity.
It is with this in mind that spiritual growth at Torrington Christian Academy is about much more than reciting the books of the Bible, memorizing verses, and giving the right answer. Our entire reason for existing is Jesus; meaning our primary goal with regard to spiritual growth is to help students realize and celebrate His presence and work in their own lives and the lives of those around them.
In providing a strong foundation (roots) through biblically integrated academic courses, formalized Bible classes, worship opportunities in chapel, an annual mission trip, and purposeful community service, it is Torrington Christian Academy’s intent to see students come to know and grow in Jesus. Of course, this happens in different ways, and in different timing. So, God’s grace is a vital component in encouraging and helping students to make their faith their own and to actively impact the environment around them for Jesus Christ. After all, character and integrity are not simply derived from knowing about Jesus, but having a personal relationship with Him.
